Privacy Policy

Camp Radar ("we", "us") monitors Ontario Parks campsite availability and notifies you when a site you want opens up. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.

1. Information we collect

Waitlist email. If you join our launch list, we collect the email address you submit. Sign-up uses double opt-in: you confirm by clicking a link we email you.
Usage analytics. We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that record aggregate, non-identifying data such as page views, referring site, approximate region, and device type. We do not build advertising profiles or track you across other websites.
Support messages. If you message us through the on-site chat, we receive the content of your message and any contact detail you choose to provide.
Technical and security data. Like any website, our providers process technical data (such as IP address and browser type) to serve pages, protect against abuse, and verify you are not a bot.

2. How we use your information

To email you about the Camp Radar launch and, later, the alerts and updates you sign up for.
To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
To respond to your support messages.
To keep the service secure and prevent spam and abuse.

3. Consent and your choices

We email you because you asked us to (express consent under Canada's anti-spam law, CASL). Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Unsubscribing stops all commercial email from us.

4. Service providers

We share the minimum data needed with trusted third-party service providers who operate parts of our service on our behalf. These include providers for email delivery and waitlist management, website hosting and content delivery, bot protection, and server hosting.

Our usage analytics run on our own servers, so usage data is not sold or handed to a third-party analytics company. A current list of the specific providers we use is available on request at privacy@campradar.ca.

5. Cookies

Our analytics are cookieless. Some functional features, such as the support chat and bot protection, may set cookies necessary for them to work. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

6. Data retention

We keep your waitlist email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until it is no longer needed for the purpose you provided it. Aggregate analytics are retained in non-identifying form.

7. Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) you may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and withdraw consent at any time. To make a request, email us at the address below.

8. Where your data is processed

Our servers are located in Canada. Some of these providers may process data in the United States or the European Union. Where data is handled outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.

9. Children

Camp Radar is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
